Putting a brake in front of a suppressor usually adds length and weight, and The Grim has been the first one we’ve run that largely avoids both. It runs 1.8″ long and 3.2 oz, and the self-timing design adds almost nothing to either figure, so the can still feels balanced on the rifle instead of nose-heavy. The porting was cut on a 5-axis mill, and the way the ports are aimed has made a real difference: recoil and muzzle rise come down noticeably, and the blast is directed away from the shooter instead of kicking dirt and debris into our faces.
That recoil control is the part that matters in the field. On a hunt you’re often looking at one or two shots, and being able to stay on target through the shot and see the impact on an animal is a real advantage. It’s optimized for non-magnum cartridges in .308 and smaller, with a magnum version listed as coming soon. The self-timing feature makes it easy to move a can between rifles, which is something we’ve valued when swapping hosts for different hunts.
Fitment is by suppressor, so you pick your model at checkout. It’s offered for Reaper, Scythe, TBAC Magnus, Dead Air, Diligent, and AB Raptor cans, and it ships with a single ampule of Rocksett. Note that Scythe versions include a wrench, Reaper versions need your Reaper wrench (not included), and Scythe Grim versions won’t work with an Omega 300. At $195.00 to $225.00, it’s priced as a premium accessory, but for suppressed hunters who want recoil control without extra bulk, The Grim delivers.
